OLD IS GOLD: HOLDENS- BACK IN TIME!!

The story of the  Holden car have come a long way over 60 years!!!

Its first car, the FX- "the car made for Australia"!! It could clock up to 130km and cruise all day for about 105km~!! It has since then developed its image of "sturdy and tough". It's cars have just known to last and perform!!!!. Since then, demand for its cars have just been flooding in!! Holden, an Australian icon, well known for it's big engines and powerful speeds!!!!

1940s:

Holden's second full-scale car factory, located in Fishermans Bend (Port Melbourne), was completed in 1936, with construction beginning in 1939 on a new plant in Pagewood, New South Wales.

1950s:

Holden FJ
Production of both the utility and sedan continued with minor changes until 1953, when they were replaced by the  FJ model, introducing a third panel van body style.

1960s:

Holden FB
Holden introduced its third major new model, the FB. The car's style was inspired by 1950s’ Chevrolets, with tailfins and a wrap-around windshield with "dog leg" A-pillars. The FB became the first Holden that was adapted for left-hand-drive markets.

Holden EK
Holden introduced the EK series in 1961; The EH update came a year later bringing the new Red motor, providing better performance than the previous Grey motor. The HD series of 1965 saw the introduction of the Powerglide automatic transmission. 1966 saw the introduction of the HR. More significantly, the HR fitted standard front seat belts; becoming the first Australian automaker to provide the safety device as standard equipment across all models.

 1970s:

Holden launched the new HQ series in 1971. the company was producing all of its passenger cars in Australia, and every model was of Australian design; however, by the end of the decade, Holden was producing cars based on overseas designs. The HQ was thoroughly re-engineered, featuring a perimeter frame and semi-monocoque (unibody) construction.

Holden's have attested to its performance, comfort, durability and speed!!! It is truly  incomparable to any other car!!! An Australian icon through time!!!

It don't feel like Summer till yer drivin' yer Old Holden.
